I went for a run outside yesterday. It was a good one, too. I did not think so at first and I still had the dreaded hill monster to contend with, but it was overall, good and fun. The wind was gusting pretty good, though and wouldn't you know it was full on in my face as I struggled up the hill. Other than that it was nice to be outside with the sun and the other people. I talked to a nice lady in the parking lot about how it was so much nicer to be outside where there were things to look at and not just a wall or a TV. Also, I wore my pink fleece... and saw two other runners in pink. It must have been Run in Pink Day. I did just shy of two miles.
Darn.
I thought that one lap was a mile, so I did two. Turns out it is just shy of a mile, so two laps are larger-shy of two miles. Gonna have to pay attention to my RunKeeper next time, eh?
I killed 262 calories and then ate them (and more) at a steakhouse with a friend. I did not bust my calories that day, so that was good. I am still 2 lbs up from the other day when my drunken compadre wanted to go to Denny's. Should have just not gotten anything. Wasn't all that hungry, but I did. Lesson learned. Busted calories that day, although not two pounds worth, so not sure what that is... water? The run yesterday and the steak after did not get rid of the water, but my rings were tight, so I guess I was bloaty. Yey! After the steak, I went to a friend's and did not partake in booze, so that was a win!
Today I walked three and a half miles. It was sooo pretty out. Not as pretty as yesterday because it was colder, but still nice. I did three laps in the neighborhood, which I thought would be three miles, but I apparently underestimated that and did an extra half! Woo! Killed 400 calories, but I know I just ate them and so much more.
I was trying to eat minimal food today since I knew I was getting sushi tonight. I was supposed to go with a friend of mine, but that did not happen, but I had my heart set. Went to a knew place, Sake, and talked with the owner, a bartender and a nice man from out of town while my order was prepped. Well. As per the usual, I ordered too much and refused to let it go to waste. I seriously need to stick to two rolls, three if starving. I always end up going "Oooh! That! That! That! That! That!!" and ordering way more than I need. With all the sauces and salts in those tasty things, I am not doing myself any favors on the health front or on the comfortable tummy front. So full.
Take aways for this "weekend?" Don't eat when you know you are not hungry and don't order/consume enough sushi for a small Japanese fishing village. Also, running outside is better than treadmill. Hoping to get out there again tomorrow!
